The influence of microwave radiation on the state of chromatin in human cells
نویسندگان
چکیده
Isolated human buccal epithelium cells were irradiated by microwaves of frequency f=35 GHz and surface power density E=30 μW/cm. The state of chromatin in human cells was determined by methods of light and electron microscopy. The state of cell membranes was evaluated by the method of vital indigo carmine staining. The microwave-induced condensation of chromatin in human cells was revealed. Left side circularly polarized waves induced less effect than linearly polarized radiation. The linearly polarized electromagnetic waves induced cell membrane damage revealed by increase of cell stainability. The data obtained are discussed in connection with the mechanisms of biological effects of electromagnetic waves.

Influence of microwave treatment on surface roughness, hydrophobicity, and chemical composition of galena
The influence of microwave treatment on the surface roughness, hydrophobicity, and chemical composition of galena was studied. The pure galena specimens and purified galena concentrate were used in this work. A conventional multi-modal oven (with a frequency of 2.45 GHz and a maximum power of 900 W) was used to conduct the experiments. The results obtained from the atomic-force microscopy analy...
متن کاملA review on combined biological effects of microwave and other physical or chemical agents
With the development of science and technology, microwave has been used in many fields such as industry, military, medicine and communication. People are living in a lapped and dynamic electromagnetic environment. Concerns about potential hazards of microwave are getting increasing attentions. The single biological effects of microwave were widely discussed which was considered harmful. Relevan...

Background: There has been a growing claim that cell phone usage may have a detrimental effect on sperm chromatin. Infertile men possess anomalies in the composition of their sperm nuclei, displaying higher levels of loosely packaged chromatin and damaged DNA. In this study we examined the relationship of cell phone radiation and the protection effect of alpha_tocopherol on human sperm DNA. Mat...
متن کاملEffect of 900 MHz microwave radiation on alpha-int1 gene expression, proliferation and adherence of Candida Albicans
To date, registered users of mobile phone communication network exceeded from total numbers of the world population, while a little knowledge of the biological effects of, 900-1800 MHz microwave radiation, originating from the handsets or the base transceiver stations, have been released. The current study was designed for evaluation of 900-MHz radiation effects on Candida albicans proliferatio...

Alzheimer’s disease, the most common type of dementia and a progressive neurode-generative disease, occurs when the nerve cells in the brain die. Although there are medications that can help delay the development of Alzheimer’s disease, there is cur-rently no cure for this disease. Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation may cause adverse health effects such as cancer. Looking at th...
